R&B luminary Leela James unveils her latest musical endeavor, a compelling single titled “Right Back In It“. A collaborative effort between James and songwriter Franci Richard, the track serves as a testament to love’s resilience during challenging times.
“Right Back In It” has been brought to life with the expert touch of producer Rex Rideout. Through the song, listeners are treated to a soothing melody that underscores the unyielding strength of love in the face of adversity.
In the second verse, James delivers poignant lyrics such as, “Almost lost it / All those nights that we wasted just beefin’ / I was here, you were there / We were sinkin’ What were we thinkin’? / We were just trippin’ so young and conflicted / Now we back in this thang again.”
In discussing the significance of her newest track, James says, “My music is my art and I’m always excited to share my craft with the world. ‘Right Back In It’ is special as it highlights the importance of getting back to yourself, getting back to love, and getting back to what makes you feel good.”
The song’s release is complemented by an accompanying video, produced by Dang Films. It tells a thrilling story of two fugitives on the run who, despite being pursued by authorities, still find time to cherish their love for each other, dancing to a live band at a lounge. The narrative grows even more riveting after they leave the venue.
“Right Back In It” acts as the precursor to James‘ eagerly-awaited album, set to be launched in the fall. This comes after her acclaimed album, “See Me”, which made it to Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
“See Me” features the hit song “Complicated” that soared to No. 1 on the Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in September 2021. A remix of “Complicated,” featuring soul singer Anthony Hamilton, was released a month after its chart-topping achievement.
To further excite fans, James embarks on a U.S. tour, commencing on July 14 in Augusta, Georgia. The tour is set to visit major cities including New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, among others.
