Keyon Harrold and PJ Morton, two musical virtuosos and long-time collaborators, join forces once again on the uplifting track, “Beautiful Day.” The jazzy composition is a standout on Harrold’s latest album, Foreverland, available now on Concord Jazz.

In “Beautiful Day,” PJ Morton’s soulful vocals resonate optimism and the resilience to embrace life’s offerings. The lyrics encourage finding peace amidst turmoil, with a reminder that even in challenging moments, a glimmer of light is ever-present, ready to shine through. Morton croons, “I know you’ve been hurtin’ / So just let the sunlight in / Just forget what they say / What do they know anyway / Today is a beautiful day.”

Harrold reflects on the collaborative process, stating, “It’s such a beautiful thing to create music that comes from the heart and soul. ‘Beautiful Day’ is a song that PJ Morton and I wrote together in New Orleans, after a heart-to-heart conversation about life.” He continues, “We’ve been making music together for years, and every collaboration is just as special as the last. PJ is truly one of my favorite songwriters and artists, and it was an absolute honor to create ‘Beautiful Day’ for my Foreverland album.”

Foreverland, a 10-track masterpiece, features notable appearances from Robert Glasper, Common, Jean Baylor, and Laura Mvula. This album serves as a follow-up to Harrold’s acclaimed 2017 release, The Mugician.

Beyond his solo endeavors, Harrold has been actively engaged in various collaborations. His contributions to projects like Gallant and Terrace Martin’s “311!” and Goapele’s “Time Heals” showcase his versatility and continued impact in the music industry. Additionally, Harrold recently lent his skills to Norelle’s rendition of Sade’s “Like a Tattoo,” honoring the legendary Sade Adu.

To support the release of Foreverland, Harrold is set to embark on a tour, kicking off on January 19 at The Sun Rose in Los Angeles, California. The tour spans multiple U.S. cities and includes a European leg in March, with a return to Michigan later in the month.
