Louis York, the dynamic duo of Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, has unveiled their latest single, “Three Little Words,” in collaboration with the illustrious Tamia. This release is a standout track from their much-awaited album, Songs With Friends.
“Three Little Words” is an eloquent portrayal of a burgeoning romance. The song navigates the complexities and vulnerabilities of expressing love, capturing the moment when emotions transcend the unspoken. The harmonious blend of Kelly and Tamia’s voices encapsulates the beauty and trepidation of opening one’s heart. The lyrics, “You made me open my heart too soon / And I wasn’t ready and neither were you / But now it’s said and done / I know that we both want to run / But what if we give in to what we’re running from,” resonate with the universal experience of cautious yet hopeful love.
Accompanying the release is a performance-style video directed by Karl Weidmann, offering a visual accompaniment to this heartfelt narrative.
Preceding this release were the duo’s singles, “Heaven Bound” featuring Jessie J and “Alone A Lot” with Anthony Hamilton. The latter found success on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, peaking at No. 14 and holding a strong position at No. 16 upon the release of “Three Little Words.”
Songs With Friends promises to be a collection of collaborative tracks that build on Louis York’s debut project, American Griots, released in 2019. This forthcoming album is anticipated to be a celebration of musical synergy and creative expression.
For Tamia, this collaboration marks her first official release since her 2018 album Passion Like Fire. This project included the chart-topping “Leave It Smokin'”, which achieved No. 1 at R&B radio. Tamia’s relationship with Louis York is not new, as they previously worked together on “Lipstick” from her Love Life album and the Grammy-nominated “Beautiful Surprise.”
Adding to her musical endeavors, Tamia is set to embark on a joint tour with Joe starting on Feb. 9 in Washington, D.C. This tour will see her perform across several major U.S. cities, concluding on May 4 in St. Louis, Missouri.
