Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer H.E.R. has unveiled a captivating cover of “The Glass,” a song originally written and performed by Foo Fighters earlier this year. The cover follows H.E.R.’s live performance of the track alongside the rock band on Saturday Night Live on October 28.
Expressing her deep connection to the song, H.E.R. took to Instagram to share a moving photo of the cover artwork along with its audio, stating, “THIS SONG MOVES ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH @foofighters.”

Collaborating with Grammy and Emmy-winning producer David “Swagg R’celious” Harris, H.E.R. produced a new version of the song that Foo Fighters themselves praised as a “stunning take.” Both the original version by Foo Fighters and H.E.R.’s cover will be released on a 7-inch vinyl, with the band’s official website already selling out of the record.
“The Glass” is originally featured on Foo Fighters’ latest album, But Here We Are, which earned a nomination for Best Rock Album at the upcoming 66th Grammy Awards.
This cover comes shortly after H.E.R. showcased her versatility with a performance of “Sweet Thing” alongside Chaka Khan at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where Khan was honored. Prior to this, she introduced “The Journey,” an inspirational anthem penned by legendary songwriter Diane Warren.
H.E.R., known for her Grammy-nominated and RIAA gold-certified album Back of My Mind (2021), is currently working on a new album, expressing her artistic freedom and emphasizing that it will be ready when she feels the time is right.
Beyond her music endeavors, H.E.R. is expanding into acting and is set to play the character of Squeak in The Color Purple Musical, directed by Blitz Bazawule and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast.
