John Legend, a multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter, and musician has revealed a brand-new album that will be released on September 9th through Republic Records. The upcoming album, named Legend, will be John Legend’s eighth studio album.

Ryan Tedder, a producer well known for his work with Beyonce and Adele, was responsible for this album’s creation. The album’s tunes, which draw influence from jazz, r&b, and other genres, promise to be sensuous and joyful. There are 24 songs together on the tracklist, which is divided into two acts.

Speaking on the name of the album, John Legend explains:

“Until this point, I’ve never used an aspect of my name as the title of an album. I had to earn that, to live up to it by delivering in the performance and the music. And this is me saying, I’m proud of who I am, I’m confident in the work I’ve done, and I’m just going to declare it.”
