K. Michelle’s current single “Scooch” debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week, dethroning Silk Sonic’s rendition of Con Funk Shun’s “Love’s Train.”
This is the first number one for the Memphis, Tennessee native on this list. “The Rain” was her previous best. The New Edition-inspired song was K. Michelle’s first top 10 hit on the Adult R&B chart, reaching at No. 8 during the tracking week of March 7, 2020. Jazze Pha and Cory Mo co-produced the song, which was included on K. Michelle’s 2020 album All Monsters Are Human.
K. Michelle’s most hit radio single prior to “The Rain” was “V.S.O.P.” off her 2013 first album, Rebellious Soul. In March 2014, it peaked at No. 13. She achieved the same result with “Make This Song Cry” from her album Kimberly: The People I Used to Know in March 2018.
Returning to K. Michelle’s latest hit, “Scooch,” the Lil Ronnie-produced track recently reached number one on R&B radio. The flirtatious tune serves as the debut single from K. Michelle’s upcoming album, I’m The Problem. The album is reported to be her sixth and final R&B record before embarking on a country career.

Although I’m The Problem was supposed to be released in March, K. Michelle proceeded to create new tracks with several collaborators, including Carmen Reece. She collaborated with K. Michelle on the 2016 Atlantic Records release More Issues Than Vogue.
K. Michelle enlisted the help of Dolly Parton, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Eric Paslay for her next country album. The unnamed record has no set release date or single.
K. Michelle also contributed to Nick Cannon’s latest project, The Explicit Tape: Raw & B, in other music news. Other notable R&B names on the album were Brandy, Jacquees, Chris Brown, and others.
K. Michelle featured on Lifetime earlier this year in both a series and an original film. My Killer Body with K. Michelle was the first, and it focused on the reconstruction process of numerous patients, including K. Michelle, who underwent surgery for vanity and other reasons.
