Silk Sonic, Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars’s duo, has picked “After Last Night” as their fourth R&B radio hit. It will be released on their debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, in 2020. “After Last Night,” co-produced by Mars, D’Mile, and The Stereotypes had an early influence on the radio format dominated by modern and classic R&B tracks. The sensual standout was the most added title, with 25 additions.

The late-night love fest includes commentary from the legendary Boosty Collins, who gave Mars and .Paak their stage name. It also gives a feature credit to Thundercat, who assisted with background vocals and played bass on the sensual number.

Three more tracks from Silk Sonic’s debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, have made a lot of commotion on R&B radio. First, their smash single “Leave The Door Open,” published in March 2021, rocketed to the top of the charts in less than a month. D’Mile and Mars co-produced the song, which was certified 2x multi-platinum in August 2021.

The nostalgic follow-up “Skate” then spent a significant amount of time in the top 5 during the fall months. Silk Sonic topped R&B radio for the second time in January with “Smokin’ Out The Window.” They’d do the same with the breakup anthem on urban radio.

Silk Sonic’s accurate interpretation of Funk Shun’s “Love’s Train,” published on Valentine’s Day, became their third R&B radio chart-topper. An Evening With Silk Sonic does not include the cover. Nonetheless, it may predict how the duo’s next song, “After Last Night,” will do.

Silk Sonic has spent most of the year on stage accepting awards for their collaborative work. The powerhouse combo won Album of the Year for An Evening With Silk Sonic at the 2022 BET Awards in June.

They had received four awards at the 64th Grammy Awards two months prior, all for “Leave The Door Open.”

An Evening With Silk Sonic was named No. 7 on Rated R&B’s year-end greatest R&B albums list in late 2021.

Silk Sonic will continue their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM next month. It runs from August 3 until August 19. Tickets are currently on sale.

Other R&B radio news includes. Paak’s collaboration with Mary J. Blige, “Here With Me,” is garnering airplay. The soothing track is taken from Mary J. Blige’s most recent album, Good Morning Gorgeous, which was released on February 11.

Chris Brown tapped .Paak for one of five additional songs on his freshly released Breezy (Deluxe). It’s called “Inner Peace” and it was produced by BongoByTheWay.
