Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter Nija comes back in 2025 with “32nd Floor,” a seductive R&B song that invites listeners to a secretive, private world. Produced by eliasodt and Mike Hector, the song proves that Nija can straddle the thin line of advanced production and densely intimate writing. The song speaks about needing secrecy in today’s social media world, as Nija metaphorically peeps on a secretive love affair behind the scenes.

We ain’t nobody, keep it low / Gotta play our parts, they never will know,” Nija sings, her sex-voice met with a similarly slow-burning rhythm that keeps the secrecy of the moment in the forefront. Clearly, the song is more concerned with the comment on the necessity of secrecy in a world in which it appears everything is intended for public hearing.

Nija had described that “32nd Floor” was actually personal to her since it was something she personally needed herself. “I’m such a private person, and I wanted ’32nd Floor’ to be a reflection of that. The hotel floor was the ultimate metaphor for it just being between us,” she said.

Following her uplifting anthem “Unruly,” “32nd Floor” is a departure, revealing a softer, more introspective side of the artist. The song is a great showcase of Nija’s versatility, and that she is not only good at writing anthems of independence but also good at finding beauty in silence, quiet moments.
