Rising R&B sensation Maeta has exciting news for her fans as she hints at a collaborative project with acclaimed producer Kaytranada. Signed to Roc Nation, Maeta took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the anticipated update with her followers.
In a brief video clip posted on X, Maeta can be seen posing in a bikini while a snippet of an unreleased song plays in the background. Captioned “MAETRANADA on the way,” the post ignites anticipation for the upcoming project.
The snippet features Maeta’s signature airy falsetto set against Kaytranada’s warm production as she sings, “Don’t mind, you keeping me up all night / Well let me help you set the tone / Don’t mind, I know you can get me right.”
This collaboration has been in the works for some time, as Maeta initially teased the project during a 2023 interview with Rated R&B. She revealed insights into her creative process, including collaborations with renowned songwriters James Fauntleroy and Fallon King.
Describing the project, Maeta shared, “[There are] six songs, four written by Fallon and two written by James Fauntleroy. I’m excited about that too.”
Maeta and Kaytranada have previously worked together on the 2021 single “Teen Scene,” featured on Maeta’s Habits EP. Their musical chemistry also shines through on “Questions,” a track from Maeta’s album When I Hear Your Name.
As Maeta prepares for the release of the collaborative project, she is gearing up for a busy summer on the road. She will join Chris Brown on his highly anticipated 11:11 Tour, alongside Ayra Starr and Muni Long.
Maeta’s collaboration with Brown extends beyond the tour, as they previously teamed up on “Best Ever” from Brown’s latest album, 11:11.
