Tyla ‘s rise to the top continues as her breakout single “Water” claims the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week, marking a significant milestone for the Grammy-winning artist.

The infectious track dethrones Mary J. Blige’s “Still Believe in Love” after its eight-week dominance, while Usher’s “Good Good” climbs to No. 2 and Victoria Monét’s “On My Mama” settles at No. 3.

Water” not only commands the Adult R&B Airplay chart but has also conquered various other Billboard charts, including R&B Digital Song Sales, Afrobeats Songs, Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Rhythmic Airplay Chart, and World Digital Song Sales.

Adding to its accolades, “Water” secures the top spot at R&B radio this week, with a significant audience impression of 9.9 million, according to Mediabase.

Produced by Sammy Soso, the infectious bop serves as a precursor to Tyla’s self-titled debut album, scheduled for release on March 22 via Epic Records. The highly anticipated project will feature previously released tracks such as “On and On,” “Butterflies,” and “Truth or Dare.”

Accompanying the album’s release, Tyla unveiled a visually stunning video for “Truth or Dare,” directed by NABIL (known for his work with Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar), which has garnered over 6.9 million views on YouTube to date.

“Truth or Dare” debuts on the Rhythmic Airplay and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts, positioning Tyla as a formidable force in the music industry.

Reflecting on her decision to self-title the album, Tyla explained to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe her desire for a clean introduction to her artistry. “For now, my introduction to the world, I just wanted to be clean, Tyla,” she shared. “I want people to get to know my name and get to know my sound because my first project is going to be Tyla in music form. So, I felt like self-titled would’ve been the best way to go.”

As excitement builds for the release of her debut album, Tyla is gearing up to embark on The Tyla Tour, starting with the Europe/U.K. leg on March 21 in Oslo, Norway, and concluding on April 1 in London. The North American leg kicks off on April 22 in San Francisco, California, spanning cities like Seattle, Vancouver, Miami, Atlanta, and Washington, before wrapping up on May 28 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
