LaTocha Embraces Vulnerability and Growth on Soul-Stirring New Single “Love Changes”

With her signature blend of vocal precision and emotional depth, LaTocha returns with a deeply personal single, “Love Changes.” The new track marks her first solo release since her 2023 gospel album The Invitation: A Conversation With God, and showcases the R&B veteran reconnecting with the raw, honest storytelling that’s defined much of her work.

Produced by Tyler Jasper and Travis Jasper, “Love Changes” reflects on the shifting nature of relationships—the kind of changes that sneak in quietly, leaving us questioning where we stand. “Just like the seasons, we never stay the same,” she sings over a gentle yet resonant arrangement, capturing the uncertainty of love in transition. The song’s lyrics feel confessional, almost like reading a page from a diary—intimate, unguarded, and real.

Co-written with Edrick Miles, “Love Changes” is more than just a breakup song; it’s a meditation on how love evolves and how that evolution forces self-reflection. LaTocha shares, “This is my personal journey of love — the highs, the heartbreaks, and everything in between. I wanted to capture the emotion of what it feels like when love shifts.”

Known to many as a founding member of Xscape, LaTocha has proven time and again that she’s capable of standing on her own. Her solo work continues to explore themes of faith, identity, and emotional resilience. Earlier this year, she made waves with a cover of Chris Brown’s “Residuals” as part of a challenge from R&B artist Tank, and she also collaborated with Eric Benét on “Work It Out” from his 2024 Duets EP.

With “Love Changes,” LaTocha shows no signs of slowing down. Instead, she leans in—toward the discomfort, the questions, and the grace that comes with change. The result is a moving and mature return that invites listeners to sit with their own shifting seasons of the heart.
