Halle is done hiding the pain behind the glam. Her latest single “Braveface” pulls back the curtain—and it hits like a confessional whispered through tears.
Co-written with fellow powerhouse RAYE and produced by Bongo ByTheWay, Ervin Garcia, and Johan Lenox, “Braveface” is an emotionally charged slow-burn that floats on cinematic strings, warm keys, and raw honesty. It’s not about pretending everything’s fine—it’s about surviving while things aren’t.
“I been so tired / Even though I feel this way / I gotta do what the girls do best / Cover up the pain,” Halle sings, her voice both weary and unwavering. The track echoes the pressure many women feel to show up and shine even when they’re running on empty—a quiet rebellion against the constant performance of strength.

Halle told Clash the song mirrors her headspace post-motherhood: “It’s reflective of the mindset I’ve been in, especially since having my baby. My mental has been everywhere.” The vulnerability she brings to “Braveface” isn’t just refreshing—it’s necessary. It gives grace to the tired, to the overworked, to the ones still pushing through.
This marks Halle’s second solo release of the year, following “Back and Forth,” and comes on the heels of her feature on Leon Thomas’ “Rather Be Alone.” With a string of back-to-back hits (“Angel,” “Because I Love You,” “In Your Hands”), Halle continues to build a solo catalog that’s just as emotionally nuanced as it is vocally rich.
And while she’s making waves in music, she’s also stepping deeper into Hollywood. Her next role? Starring in Italianna opposite Regé-Jean Page, premiering April 2026.
With “Braveface,” Halle isn’t just giving us a song—she’s giving us a mirror. And in doing so, she reminds us that there’s strength in softness and power in the truth.
