Jon B. returns with his eighth studio album, Waiting on You, which landed on March 21, 2025, through his Vibezelect label. His first full-length in over a decade, since 2012’s Comfortable Swagg, the collection has 11 tracks served up in Jon B.‘s signature smooth voice, and modern R&B style.

The title track, “Waiting on You,” featuring Tank, sets the ’90s retro vibe of the album. The collaboration is a reunion for the duo, who most recently worked together on Jon B’s 2004 album, Stronger Everyday. Among other standouts are the ballad “Understand” with Donell Jones and the sultry “Natural Drug,” an ode to which Jon B describes the inspiration love provides. Cameos by Rick Ross and Alex Isley introduce contrasting textures to the album’s terrain.

For Jon B. Waiting on You is a deeply personal project, reflecting his life experiences over the past decade. “People often expect new music to sound like the old material, but I’ve been living life, gathering inspiration from every high, low, and in-between moment,” he shared. “It’s about creating music that feels authentic and has depth.”

This introspective approach is also seen in the lyrical content and production of the album, handled by Jon B., Brady Watt, Loren Lomboy, Donte Jackson, and Tank. The rollout of Waiting on You coincides with the 30th anniversary of the release of Jon B.’s debut album, Bonafide, which shot him to stardom with singles like “Someone to Love”.

As part of the celebrations for this record, Jon B. has also introduced the Pick Me Up Tour, scheduled to kick off on April 11, 2025, at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. The tour will travel across major U.S. cities like New Orleans, Dallas, and Chicago, featuring Nigerian-British artist Shaé Universe as the guest special.
