Halle Bailey Releases "Back and Forth": New Single & Visualizer

Halle Bailey released “Back and Forth” on Valentine’s Day as a special gift for her fans. The song, written by Halle and produced by Needlz, is about wanting a love that doesn’t hurt. Halle sings, “I deserve a love that doesn’t hurt / Because I’ve been through worse“. A V-Day-themed visualizer, bathed in hues of red, pink, and gold, accompanied the release of the single.

Back and Forth” is Halle’s fourth solo single, following “Because I Love You” and “In Your Hands” from 2024. “Angel” has over 20 million Spotify streams and reached the top 5 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, along with “In Your Hands” and “Because I Love You”.

Halle had been teasing “Back and Forth” since 2022. In the song, she sings, “Don’t want to get into it back and forth / I know that you’ve been through it back and forth / No I don’t wanna do it back and forth / Just come right over here and shut the door“.

The visualizer opens with Halle sitting against a pink-curtained backdrop viewed through a red, lip-shaped cutout. The video includes scenes of her in a white outfit dripping with pearls, a beaded and bejeweled red number with a flowing red veil, and a glittering gold gown.

Halle has been progressing solo music career since becoming a mother. She teased in January that she has written many songs about her son and is deciding how many to include on the album. Some fans would prefer a reunion of Chloe and Halle. Chloe hinted that a new project could be in the works.
