Sade has made her long-awaited return to music with a deeply personal new track, “Young Lion.” Released as part of the Red Hot Organization’s Transa: Selects EP on October 25, the song marks her first release in six years and serves as a heartfelt apology to her trans son, Izaak Adu. The track is part of a larger project, Transa, a compilation album aiming to promote understanding and awareness of the transgender community.
The Transa project, scheduled for release on November 22, will feature contributions from over 100 artists, spanning more than three hours of music across eight chapters. The compilation aims to shed light on the diverse experiences of transgender individuals, with featured artists including Sam Smith, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Andre 3000, and Jeff Tweedy. According to co-creator Dust Reid, the album is a call for a future built on values of care, collaboration, and healing.
Sade’s deeply personal contribution to this initiative underscores the power of music as a means of connection and reflection.
