Lady Gaga, whose career spans music, film, and a Las Vegas residency, is set to achieve another milestone as she prepares to headline next year’s Coachella Festival. The announcement has thrilled the singer, who expressed her excitement on social media, fulfilling what she described as one of her “rock and roll fantasies.”
“I have long dreamed of throwing a massive night of chaos in the desert,” Gaga posted on Wednesday after the event’s lineup was revealed. She shared her previous challenges with the festival, stating, “I’ve had a vision I’ve never been able to fully realize at Coachella for reasons beyond our control but I wanted to come through for music fans. I have been wanting to go back and to do it right, and I am.”
Gaga’s history with Coachella includes a last-minute headline performance in 2017, stepping in for Beyoncé, who had to withdraw due to her pregnancy. This appearance marked Gaga’s sole performance at the festival to date. “I’m headlining and starting the weekend off at Coachella. Can’t wait to hear you all singalong and dance dance DANCE till we drop,” she added.
Apart from her upcoming Coachella performance, Gaga is gearing up for the release of her seventh studio album in February. She’s also celebrating the success of her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” which recently became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The festival, which will span two weekends—April 11-13 and April 18-20—features an impressive roster of A-list artists including Green Day, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and many others like Missy Elliott, FKA Twigs, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Tickets for Coachella will go on presale starting at 11 a.m. PT on Friday, November 22, with early access for 2023 and 2025 festival attendees beginning a day earlier. Fans can register for the presale now on the Coachella website.
