Eric Clapton to Release New Album ‘Meanwhile’ in October 2024

Eric Clapton is set to release his latest studio album, Meanwhile, on October 4th, 2024. This marks his first full studio album since I Still Do in 2016. While the album will be available on streaming platforms next month, fans looking for physical copies on CD and vinyl will have to wait until January 24th, 2025.

The album features collaborations with several notable artists, including the late Jeff Beck on the track “Moon River,” which Clapton has already shared with listeners. Other collaborators include Van Morrison, Bradley Walker, Simon Climie, Daniel Santiago, and Judith Hill.

Meanwhile has been in development for several years, with Clapton working closely with his longtime collaborator Simon Climie. Some songs on the album have already been released as singles, such as “Heart of a Child” and “Pompous Fool.” The album blends Clapton’s reflections on current events with songs that focus on more personal and universal themes.

One of the standout tracks, “Stand and Deliver,” a collaboration with Van Morrison, was originally released in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The song gained attention for its message about the challenges facing live music during that time.

In addition to preparing for the release of Meanwhile, Clapton is currently on tour in South America, with several dates scheduled throughout the year. He will also headline a show at The Hollywood Bowl on October 12th and participate in a tribute concert for the late Robbie Robertson, sharing the stage with Mavis Staples, Noah Kahan, and Van Morrison.
