Måneskin’s charismatic frontman, Damiano David, took a moment at the 2024 MTV VMAs in New York to discuss his upcoming solo project and address the future of the band. While serving as a presenter at the event, David opened up on the red carpet about his highly anticipated solo release, set for September 27.
Speaking with The Associated Press, David revealed, “I’ve been working for a long, long time on a new project and September 27 is the date of release, so I would love everyone to stay tuned.” He also hinted at a significant shift in creative direction, noting that stepping into a solo mindset is vastly different from working as part of a band: “There’s going to be a lot of new things. You’ll see.”

However, David quickly reassured fans that Måneskin’s future remains bright. When asked about the band’s plans, he emphasized, “The band is great. We are going to work on stuff. Nothing is going to change.”
Later, speaking with Billboard, David expressed his excitement for the solo release, describing it as “something I’ve been working on for a long time, and I am very proud of, so I really can’t wait for the day to come.”
David’s bandmate, Victoria De Angelis, who recently debuted her own solo project ‘Get Up Bitch (Shake Ya Ass)’ featuring Anitta, was also in attendance at the VMAs. She echoed David’s sentiments about the band’s future, “We just finished our tour a couple of weeks ago, and it went amazing, so now we’re just having a little ‘chill moment,’ but of course, we are not done.”
Earlier in the week, David sparked curiosity by posting a cryptic teaser on Instagram. The clip featured him in a full suit, walking towards a car in stormy weather. When the driver asked where he wanted to go, David simply replied, “Everywhere.” Whether this mysterious response hints at a new single, album, or band remains to be seen, but fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
