Co-written by Ledisi with producers Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, “Pieces of Me” became an anthem celebrating womanhood, reaching No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The track, which also performed well on other charts, garnered Ledisi two Grammy nominations in 2012 for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance. The single is the most-streamed track from the ‘Pieces of Me’ album, with over 15.7 million streams on Spotify and 18 million views on YouTube.
Released on June 14, 2011, the ‘Pieces of Me’ album includes other notable tracks like “Stay Together” featuring Jaheim and “Bravo,” the latter also co-written by Kelly. The album peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200, marking Ledisi’s highest charting album to date.
