Bruklin: Rihanna shaped my musical style because she has always been fierce and unapologetically herself. Her ability to blend genres, push boundaries, and express herself authentically has inspired me to want to do the same with my music. Also, Ariana Grande has always been one of my inspirations.Her ability to maintain that close relationship with her fans while delivering powerful music is a great influence. These artists have both influenced me because I aspire to embody their qualities—Rihanna’s fierce authenticity and Ariana’s close connection with her fans—in my own music and career. They drive me to create music that connects deeply with my listeners while staying true to myself.

Pinch of Sol: You’re finding a lot of success early on as an independent artist. What do you think is the key to succeeding as an artist today?

Bruklin: Finding success as an independent artist today is very tough. I personally think it requires a mix of creativity and persistence. Being genuine in my music is very important to me. The music industry is always evolving, so staying open to new platforms, trends, and technologies has helped me a lot.

Pinch of Sol: Your musical style is mainly focused on pop. What other genres of music would you like to experiment with?

Bruklin: I’d also like to experiment with R&B or electronic/dance. Maybe in the near future!

Pinch of Sol: You have a new single, “No Contact,” coming out soon. Is there something you can already reveal about the song that you haven’t told anyone else?

Bruklin: One thing I can reveal about “No Contact” that I haven’t shared yet is that the song has a deeper, more personal inspiration than my previous tracks. It’s about reclaiming your power and finding strength, especially after a difficult breakup or emotional experience. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

Bruklin: The most enjoyable part of making “No Contact” was exploring musical elements and pushing my creative boundaries. I loved experimenting with different sounds and techniques to give the song a fresh vibe.The process of translating such a personal and empowering message into music was incredibly fulfilling. Working closely with my team and seeing the song come together from a concept to a finished track was a rewarding experience.

Bruklin: I am very grateful that I have had the chance to collaborate with such talented songwriters as Coleridge Tillman, Sebastian Cole, and Warren Felder.The collaborative process for “No Contact” was dynamic and very fun.We explored various lyrical ideas and melodies, and I really enjoyed it.

Pinch of Sol: You fell in love with the song right away because of its melodies and lyrics. What was it about these elements that resonated with you so strongly during the recording process?

Bruklin: During the recording process, the melodies of “No Contact” instantly grabbed me. They had a way of staying with you, which is very important for a memorable pop song. The lyrics resonated with me because they reflect a personal journey of empowerment, which made the song feel both personal and relatable. This combination made it easy for me to fall in love with the track from the very beginning.

Pinch of Sol: What did you learn from this experience that you’ll apply to future projects?

Bruklin: From the experience of working on “No Contact,” I’ve learned the importance of blending personal experiences with music. Embracing new elements and pushing my boundaries while staying true to myself led me to an impactful song. Moving forward, I’ll focus on exploring new sounds and styles and also ensuring that my lyrics are very personal. I think applying these lessons will help me grow as an artist.

Pinch of Sol: You’ve mentioned that “No Contact” showcases a more grown-up and evolved vocal range. Did you undergo any specific vocal training or exercises to achieve this new range and sound for “No Contact”?

Bruklin: Yes, to achieve the more mature and evolved vocal range for “No Contact,” I undertook some vocal training techniques and exercises, which included: regularly doing warm-up exercises to prepare my voice, practicing breath control, and also working with a vocal coach to improve my technique.These practices helped me achieve the desired vocal quality.

Pinch of Sol: With “Magic Show” making waves and gaining significant traction, how do you plan to build on this success with the release of “No Contact”?

Bruklin: To build success with the release of “No Contact,” I plan to: post teasers about “No Contact” before the release; share short clips and artwork to keep my audience engaged. I’ll share personal stories about the song and encourage my listeners to share their interpretations or create content around it.Both of my tracks, “Magic Show” and “No Contact,” are really close to my heart, and I only hope that my audience will feel them and like them just as much.
