JayO from North London is back with another smooth Afro-R&B hit, and this time he’s brought some friends along. His new single “Reset” sees the “22” star travel to Lagos, Nigeria, to team up with Afrobeats sensations Bella Shmurda and Crayon for an early summer gem produced by Magicsticks and 4tunez beats. The track’s video, directed by Davidson F from Nigerian outfit Fedworks, follows the trio around some of Lagos’s best spots, from the streets to the club, the beach, and back again.
Speaking with Complex UK last year, JayO said: “There are a lot of collaborations at the moment between UK and Nigerian artists, which is great, but I want any track I make with a Nigerian or African artist to be worth it—worth going out there and filming a video, worth putting out.
“It needs to lay the groundwork for something bigger. Like everything I do, it has to be intentional, organic and align with who I am as a person, as well as my music.”
