Avery*Sunshine Reflects on Love’s Uncertainties with New Single “I Wonder”

Avery*Sunshine

Avery*Sunshine returns with introspective lyricism and soulful melodies in her latest single, “I Wonder,” co-written with Dana Johnson and Rob Milton.

Set against a backdrop of lush production by Jamison Ross and Dana “BigDane” Johnson, Sunshine navigates the complexities of love, questioning its endurance and authenticity.

In the chorus, she muses, “Sometimes I wonder / Could it be a spell that I’m under / Could it be this good for life / I wonder will it be a love for all time / I don’t wanna overthink but / Sometimes I wonder,” encapsulating the doubts and uncertainties that accompany profound affection.

Discussing the inspiration behind the track, Avery*Sunshine shares with Rated R&B, “‘I Wonder’ is that song where you find yourself questioning whether or not you’re too happy.” She elaborates, “After all the bad relationships you’ve had, you finally get the relationship that blows your mind and you can’t stop wondering if it’s going to last. Is it real? Is the other shoe going to drop? It’s the when-you’re-honest-about-not-trusting-your-feelings kind of song.”

“I Wonder,” penned in collaboration with Rob Milton and BigDane, follows the release of “Lifted Up” in January and will feature on her forthcoming fifth album, So Glad To Know You, slated for release on BigShine Recordings.

Described in press materials as a journey of self-discovery and interpersonal connection, So Glad To Know You delves into the intricacies of relationships and self-awareness, building on the artistic foundation laid by Sunshine’s 2022 album, Four Songs & a Bootleg.

With “I Wonder,” Avery*Sunshine continues to captivate audiences with her emotive storytelling and authentic musicality, inviting listeners to contemplate the nuances of love and companionship in a world of uncertainty.
