Keith Sweat Unveils Passionate Single "Lay You Down"

R&B icon Keith Sweat has gifted fans with a sultry Valentine’s Day treat in the form of his latest single, “Lay You Down,” produced by Wirlie Morris.

In this steamy track, Sweat delivers smooth serenades to his partner, expressing his deepest desires to satisfy her in the bedroom. With lyrics like “Cause I just want to lay you down / I’m so into you, make love I will do / You got me thinking / I just want to lay it down / I’m so into you, there’s nothing I’ll do,” Sweat sets the mood for an intimate encounter.

“Lay You Down” follows Sweat’s 2021 hit single “Can’t Nobody,” featuring Raheem DeVaughn, which peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. Reflecting on his latest release, Sweat emphasizes his commitment to creating music with genuine meaning, stating, “At this stage of my career, I make music that move me to say something. I am not interested in releasing music for the sake of statistics.”

Sweat’s musical legacy extends back to his debut album, Make It Last Forever, released in 1987 via Elektra Records. As part of Rhino Records’ Black History Month celebration, the album will be reissued on vinyl on Feb. 23. Make It Last Forever featured the chart-topping single “I Want Her,” which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

With his latest single and the upcoming reissue of his debut album, Keith Sweat continues to solidify his status as an enduring figure in the R&B genre.
