Iggy Azalea, known for her chart-topping hit “Fancy” and her notable rise in the music industry a decade ago, seems to be taking a significant turn in her career. Marking her ten-year journey in the music world, Azalea has recently hinted at a potential retirement from music, a revelation that came through a heartfelt message to her fans on X (formerly Twitter).

Azalea, in her message, delved into her creative process and the joy she derives from bringing her ideas to life. She emphasized that her decision isn’t a result of being “bullied away from music,” stating, “I’ve always laughed at that because I’d never be bullied out of anything! In fact, I’m too stubborn. I think I’ve even resisted changes within myself at times, purely because I don’t like being viewed as someone who quits.”

The rapper had previously been working on her fourth studio album, with Tory Lanez as the executive producer, following her 2021 album The End of an Era. This new project was set to continue her musical evolution, featuring collaborations with artists like BIA and Tyga.

However, Azalea has now revealed a shift in her passions, focusing more on design and creative direction than on songwriting. She shared, “In truth, what I’ve known for a long time is that I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about songwriting. That’s why I want to let you know that I’m not going to finish my album.”

Azalea’s career has always been multifaceted. Apart from music, she has directed several of her music videos, signed a modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models, and engaged with fans through OnlyFans, sharing various forms of artistic content. Looking ahead, Azalea is scheduled to perform at the 2024 AVN Awards.

In her message, she expressed enthusiasm for her future projects: “I can’t wait to start sharing some of the things I’ve been involved in creating, and I’m hoping you’ll see my quirk and humor in anything I touch!”

Throughout her music career, Iggy Azalea has made a significant impact on the charts. Her debut album, “The New Classic,” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and she has achieved three top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Problem” with Ariana Grande and “Black Widow” with Rita Ora. Her latest musical release, “Money Come,” featured Ivorian Doll and Big Boss Vette in its remix.
