Summer Walker, the talented R&B artist, has announced the upcoming release of her EP titled Girls Need Love (Girls Mix) on October 20 through LVRN/Interscope Records. This maxi-single compilation will feature five different versions of her 2018 hit single, “Girls Need Love.” It’s a celebration of female talent as Summer Walker collaborates with emerging artists such as Victoria Monét, Tyla, and Tink on various versions of the song.
The EP includes the original explicit solo version and an acoustic version, which was released alongside the announcement. “Girls Need Love” initially appeared on Walker’s debut project, Last Day of Summer, which has recently been certified platinum. In 2019, she remixed the single with Canadian rapper Drake, earning her first Billboard Hot 100 entry and Top 40 hit, peaking at No. 37.

In May, the solo version of Girls Need Love achieved 5x multi-platinum certification from the RIAA, making it her best-selling single to date. To commemorate the fifth anniversary of her project, Last Day of Summer, Summer Walker is also releasing a special cobalt blue vinyl edition available for purchase at $25, starting on October 20.
Last Day of Summer, released in October 2018, features 12 tracks, including popular singles “Karma” and “Deep.” Both of these tracks were certified platinum, with “Karma” reaching No. 1 on urban radio earlier this year, marking her first chart-topper on this format. Walker has been productive this year with the release of her EP, CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE, which is a sequel to her 2019 EP, CLEAR.
In addition to her solo projects, Summer Walker has achieved success with “Good Good,” a collaboration with Usher and 21 Savage. This track is the lead single from Usher’s ninth album, Coming Home, scheduled for release on February 11, 2024.
Girls Need Love (Girls Mix) is now available for pre-add/pre-save.
