“Like This” served as the lead single from Rowland’s sophomore album, Ms. Kelly, which was released in June 2007 under Music World/Columbia Records. The album itself debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and spent seven weeks on the chart.
The track “Like This” reached a peak position of No. 30 on the Hot 100 chart. Polow Da Don, the producer of the song, shared insights into its creation in a recent interview.
Polow Da Don said, “That beat, which people were calling go-go, had a go-go feel, but to me, it had a Cuban/African-type feel to it. I was always big on drums. That whole beat started out just with the drums… It was one of those nights where, whether it came out or not, we had so much fun creating it.“
