Another highlight is the emotional track “Shelter,” where Kelly assures her loved one of her unwavering support through life’s ups and downs: “When you got one life left inside of you / And you got too much on your plate / What you need is someone to carry you / I’ma hold it down for ya / I could be your shelter,” she croons.
Despite a recent health scare that led to her hospitalization due to blood clots, Kelly remained determined to share her new music as planned. She took to Instagram to share a heartfelt letter with her fans, expressing her commitment to putting her health first while ensuring the EP’s timely release.
tori marks Kelly’s first project since her 2020 holiday album, A Tori Kelly Christmas, and follows her Solitude EP released three months prior. Prior to that, she released her third album, Inspired by True Events, in 2019.
