Mary J. Blige, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, is set to make a grand return to the world of radio. In a thrilling collaboration with WBLS’ Creative Program Director DJ Funkmaster Flex, she announced that she will be hosting a brand new radio show on New York’s 107.5 WBLS, famously known as the World’s Best Looking Sound.
During DJ Funkmaster Flex’s Thursday night show, Blige and her signees from Beautiful Life Productions, WanMor, made a special appearance to share this exciting news with the audience. The untitled show will feature Mary J. Blige personally selecting and curating a playlist of her favorite songs, engaging in heartfelt conversations with listeners.

Though the official launch date for Blige‘s upcoming radio show has not been disclosed yet, DJ Funkmaster Flex assured fans that it will be happening soon.
WBLS, home to The Steve Harvey Morning Show, The Deja Vu Show, and JusNik Show, is known for its vibrant radio programming. As part of her appearance on DJ Funkmaster Flex‘s segment, Mary J. Blige delighted fans by premiering two unreleased tracks, “I Got Plans” and “I Still Believe in Love,” both of which are expected to be released in the near future.
Excitement for new music from Mary J. Blige grew when she was seen working in the studio with longtime collaborator and Grammy-winning songwriter and vocal producer Kuk Harrell. The duo previously collaborated extensively on her acclaimed album, Growing Pains, which earned her the Best Contemporary R&B Album award at the 51st Grammy Awards.
While it remains unclear if Kuk Harrell was involved in vocal producing “I Got Plans” or “I Still Believe in Love,” fans can eagerly anticipate Blige‘s new music set to be released this summer.

On September 15, she will be sharing the stage with DJ Funkmaster Flex at the WBLS and Hot 97-powered Hip Hop Forever concert, commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, with performances from Wu-Tang Clan, Sean Paul, EPMD, and guest appearances by Mariah Carey and Maxwell.
On July 28, Blige will perform at night one of the second annual Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa, where rap icons Nas and Chance the Rapper will also headline. Later this year, she will be the headline act at the inaugural Honeyland Festival in Sugar Land, Texas, alongside Grammy winners Jazmine Sullivan and Miguel. The two-day event is scheduled for November 11 and 12, promising an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts.
