Birmingham-based Nigerian Afropop prodigy DKIZZ is back with a new banger called “My Lady,” following the success of his first hit “Show Me.” The song has DKIZZ’s characteristic Afrobeats sensibility, with amapiano-tinged beats, rich percussion arrangements, and organic piano chords. His silky voice and catchy melodies are what really set this song apart.
DKIZZ has also released a music video for “My Lady” which is as lovely as the single itself. The video was filmed in vibrant settings, giving viewers a sense of the artist’s world and highlighting his charisma and star power.
But “My Lady” is more than just an upbeat tune with a catchy beat. DKIZZ says the song was inspired by the fallout from a bad “situationship,” or romantic relationship. DKIZZ, originally from Port Harcourt but currently residing in Birmingham and London, is rapidly becoming a major player in the afropop industry.
