Sol Blume Festival Rescheduled to August 19-20 Due to Severe Weather
According to the official press release (4/7): Following ongoing severe weather storms and record-breaking rainfall this spring, organizers were informed in recent days by City of Sacramento park officials that Sol Blume would not be able to host the event as scheduled in the interest of public safety.
Although the Sacramento area has experienced torrential rainfall this spring, creating a devastating flooding effect across Discovery Park, Sol Blume organizers have successfully been able to reschedule this year’s spring music festival to August 19-20 while retaining almost the entire original lineup.
Brent Faiyaz and Kehlani will continue to headline alongside internationally-acclaimed R&B, soul, and hip-hop acts like Ella Mai, Jessie Reyez, Isaiah Rashad, Chloe, Joey Bada$$, Pink Sweat$, Nao, Sabrina Claudio, Pink Pantheress, among two dozen other performers.
Joining Kehlani to help kick off Day 1 will include a number of award-winning singer/songwriters like UK superstar Ella Mai as part of the upcoming ‘Heart On My Sleeve’ Tour following her latest album release; East London native and alt-R&B singer Nao; festival alumni Sabrina Claudio as she returns to Sol Blume after performing at the inaugural fest in 2018; and Mariah the Scientist, who recently wrapped up a nationwide winter tour opening for Rod Wave; in addition to Amber Mark, LaRussell, Rini, Mereba, and more.
Plus, a pair of critically-acclaimed emcees will help grace the Sol Blume stages on Saturday, including Isaiah Rashad, who returns to the limelight last year with the release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album following a five-year absence; and Brooklyn-born rapper Joey Bada$$, who will perform in support of his latest album 2000 released this past fall.
The following day on Sunday, fans will not only be treated to a festival-closing and headlining set from Brent Faiyaz, but also performances from acclaimed R&B music acts like Harlem-born vocalist and dancer Teyana Taylor, who will make a special festival appearance following her farewell tour last summer; Canadian singer Jessie Reyez, who will later join Sam Smith on his summer tour across North America; soulful songwriter Pink Sweat$; the multi-Grammy Award-nominated Chlöe, best known as one half of the musical sister-duo Chloe x Halle; viral R&B sensation PinkPantheress; Bay Area-native Thuy; and Cash Money-signee Jacquees, among many others.
In total, more than 30 music acts will travel to Sacramento to perform at the newly rescheduled Sol Blume 2023, with the full lineup listed below and available online at SolBlume.com.
An official statement from the team is attached alongside recent images of the park. All passes will be transferred to the new summer dates, although organizers have created an online FAQ page (solblume.com/reschedule) specifically around the rescheduling, with info on artist updates, ticketing options, hotel assistance, and more.
