Unexpected love arrives for Arin Ray in “For Granted,” the newest release from Dinner Party, featuring the singer’s soulful voice.
Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Terrace Martin, and 9th Wonder form the supergroup that provides a captivating backdrop for Ray’s tender crooning about embracing an unforeseen romance.
Dinner Party’s “For Granted” follows their March release, “Insane,” featuring Ant Clemons. The track sampled Mtume’s 1983 hit “Juicy Fruit” and was accompanied by a music video directed and animated by Juppi Juppsen. Both songs are set to appear on Dinner Party’s forthcoming sophomore album, Enigmatic Society, scheduled for release on April 14. This album is the successor to their acclaimed 2020 self-titled album and its continuation, Dessert, which received a Best Progressive R&B Album nomination in 2022.
Enigmatic Society will also feature contributions from Phoelix and Tank, in addition to Ray and Clemons. Ray, who released the album Hello Poison last year, will be featured on three tracks, including “Breathe” and “Love Love,” which are yet to be shared.
Phoelix, who appeared on Dinner Party’s self-titled album, is included in three Enigmatic Society tracks, such as the “Secure” collaboration with Tank.
Dinner Party’s Enigmatic Society coincides with their debut performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 15 and April 22.
