A multi-platform Creed world, featuring a spinoff centered on Adonis’ daughter Amara, has been announced. When Michael B. Jordan joined Sylvester Stallone in 2015’s Creed, the storied but dusty Rocky franchise was in desperate need of a reboot. Jordan, having developed his own personality within the greater Rocky film world, was poised to take over completely by 2023, starring in Creed 3 without Stallone. The third Creed film, directed by Jordan, demonstrated it could stand on its own, generating $58 million in its opening weekend in the United States.
The enormous Creed 3 box office results have Amazon ready to spend big on Jordan and Creed, as information about a proposed universe across TV and cinema have just been unveiled. According to Deadline, such possibilities include a spinoff focusing on Adonis’ deaf daughter Amara, who was played by newcomer Mila Davis-Kent in Creed 3.
There are also plans for an anime adaptation of Creed, which will be a pleasure for Jordan, who was inspired by anime when producing Creed 3. A previously planned Drago spinoff is also allegedly still in the works, but it’s unclear whether it will ever make the cut, given a script was just recently requested. All of the initiatives mentioned above are in their early phases.
