Prior to the imminent release of the third installment of the franchise, Creed actor Michael B. Jordan has said that Creed 4 is in the works. The first Creed film, which was released in 2015, stars Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, who appeared considerably later in Stallone’s life, and Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed.
The movie series chronicles Creed’s ascent in the boxing world, where he must face several internal and external challenges. For his performance in the first movie, Stallone received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. On March 3, Creed 3 will arrive in cinemas, concluding the trilogy.
Jordan claims that Creed 4 will “for sure” happen in an interview with IGN. The Creed 3 director and star declines to identify any particular projects but does state that he wants to broaden the film series’ canon. Adonis and Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago, sparred in the ring during the events of Creed 2.
In Rocky IV’s second exhibition round, Ivan defeated and killed Apollo, the father of Adonis. Since the events in the subsequent movie will have occurred years in the past, Creed 3 will face a fresh problem that might result in spinoffs or direct sequels. See Jordan’s succinct assessment of Creed’s prospects below.
“I just want to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure.”
