Looking at the Super Bowl lineup, 2023 is predicted to be a thrilling year for big-budget movies. Unsurprisingly, Disney dominates this list of trailers, with The Little Mermaid, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a Pixar movie, and numerous future Marvel movies included. It’s also wonderful to see several movies that aren’t Disney movies on the list, including John Wick: Chapter 4 and the next Transformers movie. For 2023, a number of large studios will release blockbusters, not just one.
The anticipated movies for 2023 go far beyond the Super Bowl list. The post-spring and summer blockbusters for 2023, such as Dune Part 2, The Expendables 4, The Hunger Games: Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Disney’s Wish, are not even included in the trailer list. It also omits the July 14 release of the planned summer sequel to the Mission Impossible series, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning.
The inclusion of The Flash as a film is another intriguing aspect of this list. The Flash has been repeatedly postponed over the previous few years, even more than once in 2022, because of the controversies surrounding its lead Ezra Miller. The Flash will adhere to its June 6th release date, as seen by the inclusion of the Super Bowl 2023 teaser in the lineup. Last year’s Super Bowl attracted 112 million viewers, so it makes sense that they would try to surpass or at least match that number this year. The Super Bowl could just be able to surpass the viewership from 2022 with a lineup that includes Guardians of the Galaxy and Fast X.
