The Shazam Family challenge is addressed in the second Shazam! Fury of the Gods teaser. Shazam! introduced Billy Batson and his family, who would later join the Shazam warriors, and were inspired by the New 52 version of the superhero. Having six individuals share the power of the Shazam champion is challenging, as the new Fury of the Gods trailer demonstrates, even if the Shazam Family just joined the action at the conclusion of the first movie to battle Doctor Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins.
Adapting that aspect of the character’s mythos for the DCEU film was the proper move, even if the Shazam Family of superheroes is not frequently featured in the Shazam storylines in the comics. Shazam! was about family, with Billy finding everything he was seeking for in his new home. It was anticipated that the Shazam Family will receive a lot of attention in Shazam! Fury of the Gods given how late Billy’s family acquires abilities. The issue is that having six individuals with the same set of divine abilities in a danger that isn’t anticipated to be a Justice League-level menace cannot be sustained.
