Under her single artist name, Chlöe, Chloe Bailey has announced the release of her first album, In Pieces.
In a little teaser video she shared on Tuesday, the R&B artist said that March 2023 would be her time. In the 17-second sample, a brand-new song can be heard.
With red hair and a red latex-leather outfit, the 24-year-old vocalist looks poised. Chlöe holds a sphere in one hand and a human heart in the other, balancing them on a metaphorical scale.
The song lyrics ring out “Wear my heart on my sleeve / They all say I’m naive / But it’s better than nothing.”
The tracklist, features, and particular release date were not disclosed.
After releasing songs, covers, and remixes over the last few years, the R&B artist made the news. She released her original song “Have Mercy” in 2021 after sharing a sensual rendition of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” in the same year.
“Treat Me,” “Surprise,” and “For the Night,” all featuring Latto, were released in 2022. The Grammy-winning artist has also collaborated with Gunna, Ari Lennox, Fivio Foreign, and others. As Chloe X Halle, Halle Bailey and she released their first album, The Kids Are Alright, in 2018 and their critically praised follow-up, Ungodly Hour, in 2020.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned has been to trust my gut and to trust the timing,” the singer said to Complex about her debut solo album. She added later in the interview, “There are a lot of exciting features and collaborations to look forward to. I cannot wait to say more and put it into the world.”
