BET broadcast the 2022 Soul Train Awards on Saturday, November 26. Ari Lennox, Muni Long, Tank, J. Valentine, SiR, and other artists performed during the ceremony, which was hosted by Deon Cole.
The Lady of Soul Award was given to the R&B group Xscape. Morris Day & the Time received the Legend Award at the same time. After accepting their respective prizes, each performer gave a medley of their greatest hits.
With three wins, including Album of the Year for Renaissance, Beyoncé received more recognition than any other performer that night. The record, which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, is also a 2023 Grammy Award nominee for Album of the Year.
Mary J. Blige won one prize despite sharing the most nominations with Beyoncé. Blige is nominated for many Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for Good Morning Gorgeous, much like Bey.
