Coco Jones Performs At The 2022 Soul Train Awards

At the 2022 Soul Train Awards, Coco Jones entered the BET Amplified stage following an introduction by Lucky Daye to perform her most recent hit, “ICU.” Jones, dressed to the nines in a stunning gown, made a strong case for why she’s one to watch in her first significant live performance. Contemporaries like Queen Naija, who sang along in the crowd, gave her their approval.

What I Didn’t Tell You, Jones’ debut EP, was released on November 4 by High Standardz/Def Jam Recordings. “ICU” is taken from that album.

At the time of release, the piano-heavy song was at No. 14 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Songs list. Meanwhile, the EP is No. 6 on the R&B/Soul Albums list. Speaking on “ICU,” Jones said early on it’s “about the push and pull of being in a relationship where the circumstances have changed. Growing in our career and personal goals, but growing apart at the same time.”

“This project will hopefully share my real-life experiences with my fans and show them that I’m just like them. Sometimes people see me as the characters I play, but these stories are my own script,” Jones explained.

There aren’t any cameos in What I Didn’t Tell You. It does, however, feature the lead song “Caliber.” Jones and Babyface recently worked together on the song “Simple.” His most recent CD, Girls Night Out, contains it.
