Alicia Keys, a famous singer-songwriter and pianist, has released a new song named “December Back 2 June.” The song is taken from Santa Baby, the Grammy Award-winning artist’s next studio album with a Christmas theme that will be released on November 4 by Alicia Keys Records.

Being the first song that she has released under her own namesake record label, the artist’s most recent work marks a turning point in many ways. In addition, “December Back 2 June” is the artist’s first Christmas-related hit, coming out of her first studio album with a seasonal theme. Santa Baby was recorded while the R&B performer was on a highly successful tour in Europe.

With lyrics like “For this Christmas don’t need wishes, Not since I met you, Every season you give reason to love you, From December back to June,” the incredibly catchy song “December Back 2 June” follows Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” tradition of being both a love song and a Christmas song. The song’s repeating sample of “It’s simply Christmas time” by the Jackson 5 is backed by a chorus of backing vocalists who serve as the song’s instrumental melody.
