Elhae is marking Black Music Month by naming R&B artist Joe as the inspiration for his new track “Know.” The North Dakota native acknowledged its impact on his Instagram Stories, acknowledging the participation of heavyweight producer Eric Hudson (Mary J. Blige, John Legend).
Elhae’s emotional song, which uses Joe’s 1999 smash “I Wanna Know,” finds him making his lover feel like a queen. He lavishes her with lovely gestures, eventually striving to unlock new portions of her heart that the last man couldn’t.
“Girl, every time I lay down / You be in my dreams / You taking me to places that I’ve never seen / And you ain’t gotta worry, girl / I’ll take it slow / Lay you down and show you everything I know,” Elhae sings.
“Know” is the latest release in Elhae’s prolific year. In April, he released “FYF” and collaborated with Asiahn on a remix of “What She Wants” for a special edition of Big Femme Energy, Vol. 1. He was also brought in for the song “Without You,” a duet with rapper Price.
Elhae’s most recent project, Aura III, was launched in April 2021. The 11-track collection contained Rick Ross’s “Fun Fact,” the breakup ballad “Separated,” and Masego’s “My City.”
Elhae had plans to tour the record later in the year but canceled it. He’ll make up for lost stage time at Lollapalooza 2022 on Friday, July 29, in Chicago.
