Tank has announced the release date for his tenth and last studio album, R&B Money. The follow-up to 2019’s Elevation will be released on August 19 by his imprint R&B Money in collaboration with Atlantic Records.
The latest song from the record, “Slow,” features J. Valentine, who also co-hosts a new podcast with Tank.
Tank’s upcoming album R&B Money also includes the Kate Bush-sampled “Can’t Let It Show” and the self-sampled “I Deserve.” Both songs peaked at number one on the R&B charts.
Aside from J. Valentine and the three previously released tracks, the 17-track collection will include contributions from Chris Brown, Alex Isley, Rotimi, Feather, TVERSE, and D&D.
Discussing R&B Money in a statement, Tank said the pending album is “a labor of love to my fans and to the genre of R&B I wanted this album to pay homage to my influences and my evolution as an artist, and I think that’s what this final album represents.”
Tank cites Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Keith Sweat, and Al Green as influences on who he is as a musician.
Tank is touring around the country in anticipation of the release of his new album. He’ll perform at a few Club Quarantine performances, which will be led by D-Nice. This year’s Essence Festival of Culture and Cincinnati Music Festival both feature the R&B legend.
Tank collaborated with J. Brown on the new single “Don’t Rush.” It’s climbing the R&B charts.
