Following his previous North American tour, Lucky Daye has announced the European leg of his Candydrip Tour.
The second leg of the tour will begin on September 16 at Debaser Strand in Stockholm, Sweden. He’ll play 12 more shows before wrapping up the tour on Oct. 9 at SWG3 Galvanizers in Glasgow, UK.
As previously stated, Daye just concluded a successful headlining tour in the US in support of his sophomore album Candydrip. Joyce Wrice joined as the opening act and surprise guests in various towns including Queen Naija and Jazmine Sullivan.
In April, Daye accepted his first Grammy while on tour throughout the country. Table For Two, his February 2021 duet-driven EP, won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 64th Grammy Awards.
Ari Lennox and Tiana Major9, as well as Mahalia and Yebba, contributed to the seven-tracker effort.
Going back to Daye’s Candydrip period, he reached a milestone on the Billboard Top R&B Albums list. The album debuted at No. 5 in its first week, making him his first appearance on this chart.
In late March, the album’s first single “Over,” which samples Musiq Soulchild’s classic “Halfcrazy,” peaked at No. 92 on the Hot 100. “Over,” which was identified as his first entry on the coveted list, finally peaked at No. 77 in April.
Daye collaborated with Mark Ronson on “Too Much” earlier this month and with Ellaa Mai on “A Mess.” This spring, he also appeared on projects by Col3trane and Syd.
Daye will perform at Pharell’s Something in the Water Festival on June 17. Usher, 6LACK, Chloe x Halle, Snoh Aalegra, and many more will be performing.
