Cartier is known to the masses for its prominent history with jewelry making and producing some of the most influential pieces that have impacted fashion history so much. On the same degree of high standards, they also manage to produce some of the finest watches that are considered to be amongst the finest in Switzerland.
Their latest complicated, innovative and playful piece comes with The Cartier Masse Mystérieuse, an unconventional case design with an interesting concept for its movement and display. Unlike many other watches, the Mystérieuse uses the entirety of the movement as the rotor that winds the barrel for energy. Instead of having a conventional rotor that’s behind the movement, Cartier designed it so that the movement becomes the rotor itself and the whole caliber is seen through the front side of the watch. The whole dial is composed with the minute hour hands and the rotating movement, which is highly finished.
