
Franz Liszt was a Hungarian piano virtuoso and composer of the Romantic era. He wrote two complete piano concerti, twelve symphonic poems and a multitude of solo piano pieces. His life was exceptional as he was a friend, peer and benefactor to tens of other composers and pianists of the time including g Frédéric Chopin, Richard Wagner, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edvard Grieg, and many others.
