A new full-length trailer for “House of Gucci” has been published, and it’s nearly a movie in and of itself in terms of drama and tension. In the two-and-a-half-minute film, Lady Gaga plays Italian socialite Patrizia Reggiani, who falls in love with Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of Italian design legend Guccio Gucci, played by Adam Driver, only to murder him in 1998.
The film, directed by Ridley Scott, is based on the true story of the Gucci family dynasty’s demise. The fast-paced trailer, set to the eerie 1983 song “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by the Eurythmics, depicts the Gucci family living the high life. However, there is certainly a problem on the horizon. We watch Patrizia and Maurizio squabbling about the fashion line — and the family name — among scenes of them skiing, driving luxury vehicles, and hanging out at Studio 54.
